Rivlin served as Vice Chair of the Federal Reserve Bank from 1996 to 1999.

• Previously, she also served as the 30th director of the Office of Management and Budget in the Clinton administration from 1994 to 1996, and as the founding director of the Congressional Budget Office from 1975 to 1983.

• Rivlin's area of expertise was the US federal budget and macroeconomic policy.
