• Ruby died of lung cancer in prison while awaiting his murder trial.

• He is quoted in Gerald Posner’s book Case Closed as having said in his murder trial: "The Jewish people are being exterminated at this moment, my people are going to suffer about things that will be said about me... I don’t want my people to be blamed for something that is untrue."
