Sirota, a highly prominent pianist, travelled to numerous countries to play and teach his art.

• In 1929, he began teaching at the Imperial Academy of Music in Toyko, Japan. His tenure lasted until the beginning of World War II.

• Sirota's daughter, Beate Sirota Gordon, reunited with him after the war, and also played a major role in drafting parts of Japan's post-war constitution.
