Worked with his aunt, Lise Meitner, to advance the first theoretical explanation of nuclear fission (a term he coined).
Nuclear fission led to the creation of atomic weapons in WW2.
Frisch later collaborated with Rudolf Peierls to design the mechanism for the detonation of an atomic bomb in 1940. He was also involved with the Manhattan Proiect and conducted research in the Los Alamos Laboratory.
